Fillibuster "tax reform" AND have an alternative ready

The Democrats need to fight for the middle class. Period. Not the rich. Not the poor. The middle class.

The corporate overlords are going to try to shove a substantial assault on the middle class through, while Americans are distracted by the so-called "culture wars". While many want to wage war over 'Scalito' and abortion, that would be fighting the "conservatives" strength.

Take a lesson from Harry Reid: Rove wanted to get the media spotlight on 'Scalito', did Reid fall for it? Did he walk into the trap like an idiot? No. He came out of nowhere with a closure of the Senate on an issue where Democrats are strong: the fact that the Administration lied its way into war.

The Republicans are all geared up for a "culture war" fight on abortion. As long as the "cuture war" rages, they win. When the focus is on the economy, we win. Period.

Step 1: Get a plan.

Here is one. Treat all income equally. Get a simple "S" curve that doesn't tax the poor, and gradually rises to a 39.99% tax rate around 250,000 income per year. Get rid of the tax havens in Aruba and the Bahamas, militarily if necessary. The bottom line: a progressive, simplified tax.

Step 2: Fillibuster the Corporate Overlords

Shut the country down. Fight for the middle class. Make the contrast between the aristocratic despots in the GOP and the middle class party, the Democrats. Let the Republicans call us obstructionist. As long as we are fighting for the middle class, its all good. Let the people in rural America see where the Republicans loyalty really lies, with the rich, not the humble.
